PRESALES SOFTWARE ENGINEERS

Function

Presales Software Engineers are at the heart of Luciad's 2D and 3D visualization products sales process. In close collaboration with the sales, product development and services teams, the presales engineer takes ownership of all technical aspects of an existing or prospective customer's new project. From initial proposals to contract closure, Luciad presales engineers analyze, advise and present on the implementation of high performance solutions that fully meet the end user's expectations and market requirements. A substantial amount of time is spent with the customer, building on the excellent reputation Luciad has with regard to the quality and efficiency of the work. Luciad presales engineers are also instrumental at global industry events, demonstrating and translating the software's technical features into tangible customer benefits.

Profile

Candidates must have a higher degree in informatics or computer science, and a good understanding of object-oriented design and development, preferably in Java. Experience with GIS, OpenGL, Web services, C++, or .NET is considered a plus. Willing to travel globally, with strong analytical and interpersonal skills. All candidates must be team players with the ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent, outgoing communication skills, both orally and in writing, in English and French or another European language. Although experience in a similar position is valued, Luciad is equally interested in applicants that demonstrate a problem-solving and overall 'can do' attitude.
